I am a writer, yoga teacher, and PhD student
I am Deaweh Benson
I am a writer, yoga teacher, and PhD student in developmental psychology. I wake up each morning inspired by my dreams of radical self-care and mental health.
My career is aimed towards increasing wellness in marginalized communities and contributing to efforts to confront and dismantle systems of oppression. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College and Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Michigan where I examine radical self-care and healing among Black young adults. I have taught in educational institutions in America and China, conducted research in the academy and private research organizations, and served and launched education non-profits.
Being Radical is my offering. At Being Radical, you will find more than yoga and meditation practices. I offer insights from my research and spiritual practice to help empower your own radical practice. This platform is an invitation for you to connect with the highest version of yourself.
